Foxholes Fisheries

One of the first man made commercial fisheries in this area Foxholes has been very popular for quite a long time. Although 4 of its 5 pools are for season ticket holders there is one just for day ticket fishing. There is a good variety of fish with common and mirror carp dominating to a degree but tench and crucians are also present in good numbers. There are 20 swims with good access from the adjacent car park. There is a self vending ticket shed where a ticket must be purchased before fishing. Charges for a day are £5 or £IO for 2 rods. There is no change given so take the correct money and its worth noting that tickets are not sold on the bank. The water opens for fishing on May Ist and closes on Dec 31st. In keeping with modem trends hooks must be barbless and whilst keepnets are tolerated it is requested that large numbers are not retained in a net for long periods, a matter of common sense really. . For further information telephone Roger Chaplin on 01788 823967. Leaflets available from Banks and Burr. This gives full details of this day water and the season ticket waters. Location. 3 miles to the East of Junction 18 of the M1. Take~ the Northampton Rd through Crick village. After 1 mile there is a cross rd by the Foxholes garage. Take a left and the fishery entrance is about 200 yards on the left at the rear of the garage. Grid ref6173 on Landranger 140.
